Choral Choir,Choral (Unison) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1361424 Composed by Phil Beaman. Classical,Romantic Period. 2 pages. Phil Beaman #945886. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1361424). Total Eclipse is an Art Song. Ā I have used several lines of poetry from Newburgh Hamilton (1741) and set them to unique music that is a fusion of Classical, Romantic, and Modern. Ā The music expressively drifts from major to minor to modal every few measures, inspired by the themes of darkness and light. Ā This approachable piece of music is a good introduction for singers to the interpretation of an Art Song and is a dramatic performance piece for recital or concert. Ā It could even be used as a sing-along for the celebration of an actual eclipse!Ā (Haydn also used variations of this text to create several Recitatives and an Aria for his oratorio Samson.) Ā 2 pages, 1:50 minutesVocal Range - 1 octave, middle C to Calso an SATB choral version on this site; also as a vocal solo in several keystemporary recording using a soloist.

Choral Choir (Unison) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844488 Composed by Johann Cruger. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Christian,Holiday,Patriotic,Sacred,Wedding. Octavo. 7 pages. Phil Beaman #3448625. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844488). Now Thank We All Our God is an English adaptation of the ancient German hymn Nun danket alle Gott. The lyrics were written by Rinkart in 1636, the melody by Cruger in 1647, and the popular harmony by Mendlessohn in 1840.This arrangement begins with a Handelian keyboard introduction, modulates to the 1st Verse for Unison choir with a new homophonic reharmonization for accompaniment, then modulates to Verse 2 which is a softer Unison with a drone accompaniment and a voice solo antiphon, then a final modulation into Verse 3 which is Unison with optional traditional SATB hymn parts.Since it is in Choral Unison we have used it here in the National Cathedral for gathered massed choirs from around the country to celebrate the official Government Holiday of National Day of Thanksgiving. I am aware that one country has also used this piece as part of the Investiture Ceremony to install their new Bishop. The addition of the Psalm antiphons gives it a Nationalistic angle as well. Further, in some countries this hymn is also a tradition at Christian Weddings. In short...this piece is perfect for any moment of Thanksgiving!7 pages  4 minutes

Choral Choir,Choral (Unison) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1353797 Composed by Anon. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Advent,Christmas,Jazz,Renaissance. 3 pages. Phil Beaman #938566. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1353797). This jazz composition is based on the hauntingly beautiful 15th century medieval tune that is commonly used for the Advent carol O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. Ā I have reharmonized it with the accompaniment in a Key Signature a fifth above that of the melody. Ā The accompaniment has a broken two chord ostinato throughout written as a walking bass line. Ā I have altered the melody and moved much of it to the off beats. Ā As in period early music, I allow occassional dissonances in order to keep the ostinato. Ā I have chosen 4 of the many historic verses that are more inclusive and general. Ā This piece makes a wonderfully useful and unique addition to the season's repertoire. Ā (I have also published several versions on this site for flute or clarinet solo using various instrumental accompaniments as a duet.) Ā (Also as a piano solo.)range - melody - 10th, low B to D3 pages score; Ā 3:17 minutes.
