2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1458066 By Sharon Wilson. By Frances R. Havergal, Henri A. C. Malan, and Lowell Mason. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. 19th Century,Christian,Lent,Romantic Period,Sacred. Score. 13 pages. Sharon Wilson #1037036. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.1458066). The classic hymn tune HENDON by Henri A. Malan has been arranged as a dual piano duet (for 2 pianos, 4 hands). Both parts carry the melody at times making it fun and equally challenging for both players while adding variety for the listeners. The song begins in the key of G major and then transitions to the key of C major for the second verse. This slightly rhythmic, yet flowing arrangement will encourage reflection as the listeners are reminded of the lyrics penned by Frances R. Havergal: Take my life, and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee; Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in ceaseless praise. The purchase price includes a 7-page score with combined PIANO 1 and PIANO 2 parts on each page (Grand Staff) plus an alternate format with the PIANO 1 and PIANO 2 parts on separate pages (2 pages each). This arrangement is one of the 5 hymns in the collection Hymns of Reflection for Two Pianos.Visit Sharon Wilson's website: https://www.SharonWilsonMusic.com/Subscribe to her YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/@SharonWilsonMusic

Piano or 2 pianos (4 hands) - difficult - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q17510 Prelude. Composed by Richard Wagner. The Virtuoso Piano Transcription Series. Downloadable. Op. 6. Duration 10 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q17510. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q17510). With the prelude to the Mastersingers we now publish the second of three Wagner transcriptions already made legendary by Gould's 1973 recording. Gould brought Wagner's 'brilliant counterpoint' to life with the help of recording technology, by superimposing a second, supplementary part over an initial recording. For live performances it is therefore preferable to have two pianists playing the piece on two pianos, rather than the piano solo version which is made possible with some cuts.

2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1416730 By Richard Simm. By Soloviev-Sedoi. Arranged by Richard Simm. 20th Century,Folk,Multicultural,World. Score. 5 pages. Richard Simm #998394. Published by Richard Simm (A0.1416730). This lovely song has become a folk tune in its own lifetime.  Composed in 1955 during the Soviet Russian Era, it achieved supreme worldwide popularity during the early 1960s, although the film for which it was originally composed has been forgotten.  Exotic, atmospheric harmonies, along with a truly memorable melodic line, transcend national boundaries and attest to the genuine musical gifts of composer Vasily Solovyev-Sedoi. Here it is in Richard Simm's arrangement for 2 pianos.

2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565178 By Sharon Wilson. By African-American Spiritual. Arranged by Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Folk,Jazz,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 12 pages. Sharon Wilson #3519273. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565178). This arrangement of the traditional spiritual When the Saints Go Marching In is presented here as a mixed level duet for two pianos, four hands. The PIANO 1 is the easier part (early-intermediate) and the PIANO 2 is slightly more challenging, though still only at the intermediate level. Both PIANO parts carry the melody at times beginning with PIANO 1 for the verse. Quick-paced and bright, this dual piano duet is an ideal selection for a church setting. The purchase price includes a 5-page score with combined PIANO 1 and PIANO 2 parts on each page (the grand staff) plus an alternate format with the PIANO 1 and PIANO 2 parts on separate pages (3 pages each). Duration is just under 1-1/2 minutes. This arrangement is one of the 5 spirituals in the collection Five Joyful Tunes for Two Pianos. This song has numerous verses and varying lyrics, most of which reference the joy of marching into heaven at Jesus' second coming. Bible verses from which the lyrics were gleaned include the following: . . .Yahweh's ransomed ones will return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. Isaiah 35:10 WEBFor the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God's trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 WEBBlessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. Revelation 22:14 WEBLyrics for my favorite 3 verses:O when the saints go marching in,O when the saints go marching in,O Lord I want to be in that number,When the saints go marching in.O when the trumpet sounds its call,O when the trumpet sounds its call,O Lord I want to be in that number,When the trumpet sounds its call.O when they crown him Lord of all,O when they crown him Lord of all,O Lord I want to be in that numberWhen they crown him Lord of all.

2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.972673 Composed by James Siddons. Contemporary,Folk,Jazz,Spiritual. Score. 25 pages. James Siddons Music and Writings #6698569. Published by James Siddons Music and Writings (A0.972673). Performance NoteSonata Hymnica No. 6 is scored for two pianos and three performers. One  performer (or player) sits at Piano I and may also serve as the conductor. At Piano II, Performer 1 plays from the treble  staff and Performer 2 plays from the bass staff. There are possible variations in this, such as having four pianos (two pianos  doubling the other two), or having two performers at Piano I, with Performer 2 playing only the bass-staff rhythmic pattern that  begins in measure 37. A standing conductor (not playing piano) may be desired.  Although repetitive, the music in this sonata rarely repeats itself  exactly; hence, further minor improvisations by the performers are appropriate, keeping with the improvisatory nature of oral  tradition. Program Note (for use in concert programs) by James Siddons  The Sonata Hymnica series by James Siddons consists of piano solos that explore the world of American hymns and  vernacular religious songs in the 1880-1920 era, when rural and small-town churches relied on pianos for music, and, in an age before microphones and amplification, the acoustics of wooden floors, walls, and high ceilings. These sonatas are not hymn arrangements but explorations of the sounds that can be created by a piano in a reverberant environment, all the while keeping in mind the essential message of the familiar words  sung to the various hymn tunes. Sonata Hymnica No. 6 is the first in the series to be for piano ensemble, and the second (after No. 3) to be based on the worship music of the 19th-century African American church. This sixth sonata also explores the singing world of the black congregation and choir as well as the piano. Their singing was shaped  by the sounds and intonations of the piano and the heritage of European music behind it, as well as the contours and cadences of the religious folk songs known as Spirituals. But the black congregations also sang hymns and choruses from the Classical tradition, and the Spirituals became the basis of many adaptations by white arrangers. Thus, we may speak  of  standardized adaptations of Spirituals as white black music, and black performance styles of Classical works as black white music. Piano ragtime music is a non-religious example of white music (the military march) made into black white music by the blending in of the syncopated rag rhythm. Sonata Hymnica No. 6 explores the intermingling of these two strains of American music as heard in the 19th-century black church. In his classic book The Souls of Black Folk (Chicago, 1903), W. E. B. Du Bois confesses to not being a musician but nonetheless finding himself enthralled by the music of the Southern 19th-century African Americans. He refers to their singing as the Frenzy or ‘Shouting,’ when the Spirit of the Lord passed by, and seizing the  devotee, made him mad with supernatural joy . . . stamping, shrieking, and shouting, the rushing to and fro and waving of arms,  the weeping and laughing, the vision and the trance (p. 116). On another page, Du Bois speaks of . . . the songs of my fathers . . . swelling with song, instinct for life, tremendous treble and darkening bass (p. 163). Sonata Hymnica No. 6 uses the African call and response form as well  as percussive polyrhythms.

2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1369322 Composed by Johann Simon Mayr. Arranged by Fabrizio Capitanio. 19th Century,Classical,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period. Score. 92 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #953678. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1369322). Johann Simon Mayr (1763—1845) is a composer rarely performed today. His music, reflecting the transition from the Classical to the Romantic musical era, inspired Rossini and was crucial in the development of Donizetti’s style. He became a central figure in the musical life of the Italian city of Bergamo where, in 1805, he founded the Conservatory, at the time known as “Lezioni Caritatevoli di Musicaâ€. One of the first pupils of the “Lezioni†was Gaetano Donizetti, whose production and fame soon arose above everyone else’s. The first concerto, in C major, is one of the three surviving keyboard concertos from Mayr’s manuscripts kept in the Biblioteca Musicale Gaetano Donizetti and in the Museo Donizettiano. It is pedagogical in nature, its light orchestration (only 2 oboes and 2 horns joining the strings) allowing it to be performed with minimal forces. In three movements, spanning about 18 minutes in total, it looks back at a late Classical style that was quickly fading out of fashion at the time of its creation (1825-6).This edition comes with the unique contribution of M° Fabrizio Capitanio, in the form of a thorough musicological research delving deep into the historical context, and all of the critical aspects that made this work possible. M° Capitanio also realised the reduction for two pianos for this title (ASE 0051).The full score is available under Catalogue N° ASE 0047, while orchestral parts can be found as a bundle under Catalogue N° ASE 0053.This edition is also the first one in the new series dedicated to the City of Bergamo: La Bergamasque!

Schott Music - Digital #Q5862. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q5862). The Piano Concerto No.2 was first performed in Cape Town in 1949 and in the following year was broadcast on the BBC Radio Third Programme. It was enthusiastically received by the critics, Ernest Newman writing of it ’I was particularly intrigued by the skill with which the composer has managed to fuse Hindustani modes of expression and European ways of thought and factors of design into a single organic whole. I was greatly intrigued by it’. It had many performances and broadcasts in the composer’s life time but after his death, was not heard again until 2007 when it was specially recorded for broadcast one evening in ‘Scotland’s Musicâ€, a BBC Radio Scotland’s series of weekly programmes. John Purser, writer and presenter of the series which ran for a year, comments ‘The Concerto emerges as a major achievement in terms of over-all conception, technical innovation and brilliance and superb handling of the orchestra’. The soloist, Dutch pianist Ronald Brautigam, said of his experience “It is a great privilege to be working on such a wonderful Concerto! I have completely fallen in love with the piece. The work is definitely challenging, but the wealth of musical ideas, the refinement of the slow movement, the humour and boisterousness of the finale make one forget that at times fingers need to be scraped off the keyboard’.

2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1464123 By Richard Simm. By Bedrich Smetana. Arranged by Richard Simm. 19th Century,Classical,Folk,Multicultural,Romantic Period,World. Score. 9 pages. Richard Simm #1042836. Published by Richard Simm (A0.1464123). Smetana struggled hard for recognition in his life as a composer, but in his later years his major contribution to a Czech national style in music was acknowledged. Vltava is a marvellous orchestral depiction of the river that flows through Prague, reflecting the aspect of realism which was part of his romantic inspiration. This 2-piano arrangement by Richard Simm is pianistically advanced in order to retain as much as possible of the original's rich orchestral texture, but the focus is on the beautiful main theme of the work, concluding with Smetana's rather Wagnerian coda. Polished pianists will enjoy taking part in the powerful, surging flow of this descriptive work.

2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1170301 Composed by Georges Bizet. Arranged by Richard Simm. 19th Century,Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. Score. 6 pages. Richard Simm #770661. Published by Richard Simm (A0.1170301). The brigadier, Don José, has fallen madly in love with Carmen, but she already has her eyes on another man, the bull-fighter, Escamillo. In this aria Don José declares his love for Carmen, but she belittles his passionate attempts to convince her of his feelings, saying that if he really loved her, he would take her away from her humble surroundings to a place where she could really be free. The arranger has added a short bridge passage between the opera's initial scenes of communal life centred around a cigarette factory and Don José's beautiful expression of his ill-fated love in Act II.

Published by Visionary Quest Records (A0.1070270). Descensus ad Infero is a two piano ensemble piece composed by Tito Abeleda (1964 - ). Digital download is score plus parts = 31 pages.Descensus ad Infero is Latin for Descent into Hell. As such this is a powerful passionate piece with much boldness, dissonance, and angst. There is a driving pulse that is vehement and at times unpleasant and even frenetic because one's descent into the abyss has been adjudged for a life lived accordingly. Piano 1 and Piano 2 trade off on motifs and dynamic changes. Note the melodic motifs that warrant greater emphasis throughout the piece. This piece is rather accessible for the advanced intermediate student. This score would also work well as music for thriller, horror, and/or suspense films.Add this dramatic piece to your music collection today.YouTube - https://bit.ly/DescensusPiano_YouTubeLicense on Songtradr - https://bit.ly/DescensusPiano_SongtradrContact Tito for original compositions: http://bit.ly/TitoAbeleda_SoundBetterEmail: tito@visionaryquestrecords.comPRO: BMI.comVisionary Quest Recordshttps://www.visionaryquestrecords.comFollow Tito on Social Media:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/titoabeledaTwitter: https://twitter.com/titoabeledaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/tabeledaYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/titoabeledaSpotify: http://bit.ly/TitoAbeleda-on-SpotifyiTunes/Apple Music: http://bit.ly/TitoAbeleda_iTunes

In 1724 some hot springs were discovered in the Irish town of Mallow, which soon became a famous health resort. The Rakes in the title of this well-known polka were a group of young lads who preferred drinking other things than the supposedly health-giving water there, and this catchy tune gives an inkling of the fun and games that seem to have been their main goal in life...
