After teaching for 25 years I got tired of the same 'ol repertoire. So, I wrote a series of unaccompanied violin solos called Espressione for beginner, intermediate, and advanced. 
Animato, (Espressione II No.3) is a fantastic way for the advanced student to get some hands-on experience developing their skills.  Written in 4/4 time with three sharps, lots of accidentals, rhythmic variation, and melodic flare. The student gets to write in their own bowings, dynamics, and tempo changes!  Without a piano part to hide behind the student must use their skills and musicality to bring the music to life!!!
