By The Beatles. By Brian Holland, Freddie Gorman, Georgia Dobbins, Robert Bateman, and William Garrett. Arranged by Jeff Tincher. Contemporary. Score. 13 pages. Jeff Tincher #3088079. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.582417).

This is a piano/vocal/guitar arrangement of one of the more popular 60's hits. Done by a lot of artists, this arrangement is the one The Beatles released on their With The Beatles (English release) and Second Album (U.S. release) projects. This is a transcription from the original recording in the original key. I used The Beatles version because I really liked Paul's bass line. Great for any live performance or playing along with the recording. Duration=2.34. By Dizzy Gillespie. By Dizzy Gillespie and Frank Paparelli. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Jazz. 12 pages. Keith Terrett #5899355. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.747026).

A great sounding arrangement of A Night in Tunisia arranged for Baritone, Euphonium, Trombone (BC) & Piano, low brass players will love this!

A jazz solo is written out for you, if you wish you can improvise on the given chord symbols!

A Night in Tunisia is a musical composition written by Dizzy Gillespie around 1941–42, while Gillespie was playing with the Benny Carter band. It has become a jazz standard.

It is also known as Interlude. Gillespie called the tune Interlude and said some genius decided to call it 'Night in Tunisia'. He said the tune was composed at the piano at Kelly's Stables in New York. He gave Frank Paparelli co-writer credit in compensation for some unrelated transcription work, but Paparelli had nothing to do with the song. A Night in Tunisia was one of the signature pieces of Gillespie's bebop big band, and he also played it with his small groups. In January 2004, The Recording Academy added the 1946 Victor recording by Gillespie to the Grammy Hall of Fame.

On the album A Night at Birdland Vol. 1, Art Blakey introduced his 1954 cover version with this statement: At this time we'd like to play a tune [that] was written by the famous Dizzy Gillespie. I feel rather close to this tune because I was right there when he composed it in Texas on the bottom of a garbage can. The audience laughs, but Blakey responds, Seriously. The liner notes say, The Texas department of sanitation can take a low bow.

The complex ostinato bass line in the A section is notable for avoiding the standard walking bass pattern of straight quarter notes, and the use of oscillating half-step-up/half-step-down chord changes (using the Sub V, a tritone substitute chord for the dominant chord) gives the song a unique, mysterious feeling. The B section is notable for having an unresolved minor II-V, since the chord progression of the B section is taken from the B section of the standard Alone Together, causing the V chord to lead back into the Sub V of the A section.

Like many of Gillespie's tunes, it features a short written introduction and a brief interlude that occurs between solo sections - in this case, a twelve-bar sequence leading into a four-bar break for the next soloist.

Composed by Frédéric Chopin, Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. 19th Century,Classical,Romantic Period,Wedding. 14 pages. Rob Bushnell #1045303. Published by Rob Bushnell (A0.1466770).

Written by Frédéric Chopin, the Waltz No. 13 (opus 70, no. 3) was written in 1829, whilst the composer was still living in Warsaw, Poland, and was published, posthumously, with two other waltzes in 1855.

The trio section, the low melody that begins this part was said to be inspired by Chopin’s crush on the young singer, Konstancja G?adkowska. However, a letter (3 October 1829) to Tytus Woyciechowski, an early friend (and possibly lower) of Chopin’s, reads: “How sweet it would be for me to play it for you, dearest Tytus. In the trio, the bass line should dominate up to the high E-flat of the upper half of the keyboard in the 5th bar […]. Forgive me for sending you the waltz, which perhaps will make you angry at me, but upon my word I wanted to give you pleasure with it, because I love you madly.”

This arrangement includes an alternative part for alto clarinet in E-flat. A recording of the original composition can be found here on YouTube:

Requiem-Trío. Elegía al poeta Miguel Hernández fue compuesto por encargo del Trío Salduie, de Zaragoza (España), que lo estrenó el 30 de marzo de 2012 en esta misma ciudad.

En cada uno de los cinco movimientos se asocia un verso del poeta con una parte de la Misa de Difuntos que considero relacionada en su esencia. Esta conjunción inspira el carácter de la música. En este canto en recuerdo del poeta sus versos trascienden en una espiritualidad laica y humanista.

Composed by Dalton McLaughlin. 20th Century,Jazz. Score and parts. 95 pages. Dalton McLaughlin #3452087. Published by Dalton McLaughlin (A0.1011784).

This percussion ensemble, which was written for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras Percussion ensemble, is a jazz inspired blend of the music that fascinated me when I wrote this. It is inspired by the work of Claude Debussy and Jacob Collier, because I felt like there ins't really much in the way of a percussion ensemble in that vein. It is also inspired by the idea of Sisyphus, the Greek Myth, and the idea of a phoenix burning up to become renewed.

This piece works great for college percussion ensembles.

SKU: A0.889303

Composed by Mary Jane Lang. Standards. 35 pages. MaryJaneLang #32371. Published by MaryJaneLang (A0.889303).

This is written in one broad movement for a Flute in C quartet. I wrote it because I love the flute and want to incorporate a theme and variations approach. Each terrace gets a little more involved with counterpoint, etc., in the tonal fabric, building up to a dramatic tension point and then a D.C. back to the beginning to hold it all together and come to a final cadence. It is loosely based and inspired by the Baroque dance suite approach, very freely using the drama, echoes, tensions and cadences, telling a story. It is motivated by universal human experiences in living life (the drama of the terrace dynamics), making the most of opportunities using available resources -- all that good stuff! The title page is a dramatic photo of the Northern Lights from Alaska showing terraces, starting with our earth and looking upwards to infinity. The audio clip is not a sample, but a MIDI rendition of the whole composition.
