Composed sometime between 1843 and 1848. Waltz in A Minor is Chopin's 19th waltz but was not published until after the composers death. This arrangement for bassoon and piano is ideal for the early intermediate performer and would also be suitable for cello and piano too!

This much loved melody by Chopin is also remembered in the classic 1917 song recorded by Judy Garland, I'm Always Chasing Rainbows. In this arrangement for flute and piano the piano provides a gentle accompaniment to the flute, and the phrasing is there to encourage a legato 'cantabile' performance. Ideal repertoire for High School students working at home, the performance duration is two and a half minutes and the full score has individual parts attached. One of the better known nocturnes, this piece has a rhythmic freedom that came to characterize Frédéric Chopin's later work. The piece is 85 measures long and in 6/4 meter is written in ternary form; after the primary theme, the secondary theme starts in measure 19, followed by a modified version of the primary theme in measure 70. The opening section moves into a contrasting middle section in the same key signature, which flows back to the opening material in a transitional passage. The reprise of the first section grows out of this, followed by a Picardy third ending.

This arrangement for oboe with piano accompaniment reflects faithfully the original and is suitable for any purpose and occasion.
