This is a simplified version of the famous piano piece by Chopin, the Nocturne Op. 49 no. 1. The structure, melodies and harmonies are the same. The changes to make it easier are in the big chords from the middle section, they have been reduced within an octave and with less notes, but there are some others that surpases the octave, but they are rewritten in an easier way with less notes and with arpeggi. The last section is rewritten in a very simplistic way with an easier accompaniment for the left hand and only the main melody for the right hand and secondary voices and secondary accompaniment chords for the right hand that appears in the original work have been removed. Chopin believed Opus 10 No 3 to be the most beautiful melody he ever composed. This adaptation has had a change of time signature to match the more modern interpretation and a change of key signature to make it more saxophone friendly. Much of the pianistic gymnastics have been smoothed out. The players should make great use of Rubato and it is suggested listening to Lang Lang's performance on youtube (www.youtube.com/watch/?v=8yjnLmv1hHU) to capture the style and ambience intended in this arrangement.
