Fl. Pft. - Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM641 Composed by Jonty Hall. Flute and Piano. Score and part. 22 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM641. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM641). ISBN 9790570485406.Passchendaele, is a small village five miles north-east of Ypres. The 3rd Battle of Ypres was fought here... On 18 July 1917 the Allied troops began a heavy ten day bombardment before the main attack; 3,000 guns fired over 4 million shells. The battle commenced on the 31st of July, and stretched on until November the 10th, 1917. Heavy rain began on the day of attack, producing thick mud, which caked uniforms and clogged rifles; It became so deep that men, horses and pack mules drowned in it. The Germans, who had used chlorine gas in the 2nd Battle of Ypres, now used mustard gas which inflicted chemical burns. The offensive resulted in gains for the Allies, but it was not the great breakthrough that was hoped for; The Allies suffered 310,000 casualties, the Germans 260,000. Just south west of the village of Passchendaele is the Cemetery and Memorial - Tyne Cot. It is the resting place of 11,954 Commonwealth soldiers and is the largest Commonwealth military cemetery in the world. The Tyne Cot Memorial is a long wall which carries the names of 34,863 British soldiers who have no known grave. Pals battalions became synonymous with the towns of northern Britain; Men enlisted because they could serve alongside their friends, relatives and workmates.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1041503 Composed by Gabrielle Felicita Chen. Contest,Festival,Folk,Holiday,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score. 9 pages. Gabrielle Felicita Chen #646246. Published by Gabrielle Felicita Chen (A0.1041503). “L’amore di Kebo Iwa†simply means ‘the Love of Kebo Iwa’ , which is inspired from Indonesian Balinese folk music. It is usually played by the instruments called Gamelan. Bali is an island in Indonesia rich with cultural traditions that are very much rooted in myths and legends. After understanding deeper of the legend of “Kebo Iwaâ€, I was so drawn to the character and the plot that I decided to tell the story in my piano composition. I was able to use different kinds of musical techniques to express different moods. One of them is to apply the Pentatonic ‘Balinese Pelog’ Scale in B flat Major, which represents the majority of the Gamelan sound that is usually transcribed into Western notations. Below is the synopsis the “L’amore di Kebo Iwaâ€. A Once upon a time, in Bali, there was a husband and a wife who dearly wanted to have a baby. They prayed to God for a very long time. Finally, God heard their prayers and blessed them with a baby boy. But there was something special about this baby boy: he was very big- a giant baby. They named him Kebo Iwa. Kebo Iwa grew up with a good heart and became a gentleman. He was a kind hearted giant; he protected the village dearly. One day, the King of Majapahit from Java wanted to conquer Bali. He had heard about Kebo Iwa and knew that his army would lose to Kebo Iwa. B Therefore, the King of Majapahit tricked Kebo Iwa. He invited Kebo Iwa to Java island, promising that he would arrange a wedding for Kebo Iwa to marry his daughter, the beautiful Majapahit princess. Kebo Iwa was so in love with the princess, so he happily travelled to Java island. C After he arrived in Java, the King of Majapahit asked a favour from Kebo Iwa to dig a well, with the reason for it being the dry season. Kebo Iwa then sincerely gave some help and started digging a big, giant well. D However, the King Majapahit never meant to deliver his promise to Kebo Iwa. Instead, the King Majapahit commanded the troops to cover the well with mud and boulders. But when Kebo Iwa realized, it was too late. He was already in the position that was far too deep below - at the bottom of the well. Kebo Iwa then cried loudly and sadly with a broken heart until his last breath. He was buried alive. Soon after that, the Majapahit troops attacked and conquered Bali. E At last, the well was covered and grew a hill of flowers. To this day, the Bali villagers still remember Kebo Iwa as their hero. To honor him, they erected a giant statue of Kebo Iwa in Gianyar, Bali, as a memorial.

I wrote this seven by eight word poem as a feedback to several poems written by a netizen last year for my Melody of the Arrow and the Song.Swallows make their nests under the eaves of an old house; They are flying around carried with mud and hay.I asked swallows why you are prejudice to select that house,Which looks like a broken temple?(Swallow chirps back to me,although its philosophy is not deep, the artistic conception is high :)Skyscrapers look splendid; However, its glass is slippy and it catches fierce wind all around. The shiny and magnificent halls are difficult to build a nest; How could we waste spring time for nursing our chicks?

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1440683 By Graham Hamilton. By Graham Hamilton. Classical,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Historic,Traditional. 103 pages. Hambone Music #1020661. Published by Hambone Music (A0.1440683). A dramatic film-type composition capturing the journey of a novice monk during 15th Century Scotland. For orchestras of an intermediate standard. Ahaunting french horn solo is followed by a dramatic trek utilising the whole orchestra to the end where the horn to round the piece off.Inspired by an old ruined church in my town called the 'Cross Kirk' the history of which can be found here: https://www.britainexpress.co.uk/attr... Part 1 (0 - 2:24) It is around the year 1650. A novice monk awakes from his slumber to the echoes of prayers and holy chanting coming through the cloisters. After he rises, he readies the oxen for a trek down the St. Andrews Road to the nearby satellite site of the priory - the site of the modern day St Andrew's cemetery. Part 2 (2:26 -3:37) It is an arduous trek over a muddy, rocky, unprepared track with heavy carts, with oxen straining to pull the load. They stop for a breather (3:09) and the impressive vistas are observed and the flag at 'Auld Neidpath' is just visible, reflected in the noble theme between the arduous oxen trekking theme. Part 3 (3:37 - 6:02) The caravan starts to speed up; the oxen being startled by the sounds of fanfare trumpets coming from behind - a brave group of knights have broken through English lines and speed towards Neidpath to reinforce the besieged occupants. As they pass the wagon train, the fanfares get louder until the party reach the head of the train (4:30) where the lead Knight halts to show piety to the Hieromonk who blesses him and his knights (4:55). The novice looks on awe-inspired at the brave knights, with noble faces, resplendent in shining armour, with banners flapping in the wind. (5:02) No time to stop! The knights remount and continue on, the fanfares trailing off into the distance. The wagon train slows down having reached its destination. Part 4 (6:03 - 8:12) The novice is back at the priory, reflecting on seeing knights for the first time (receiving their blessing); their nobility and bravery impressed upon him and retires to his cell for the evening, the evening prayers and chants again echoing through the cloisters (6:30). As he closes his eyes, his mind returns to the knights and a smile crosses his face (8:01) as he gently drifts off to sleep, as the final bell of the day tolls.
