Here is a simplified, yet powerful instrumental trio arrangement (for VIOLIN and CELLO duet with PIANO accompaniment) of the beloved classic hymn The Holy City by Stephen Adams (aka Michael Maybrick). The PIANO accompaniment has been simplified from the original making it more accessible to the intermediate pianist. This majestic and uplifting arrangement is an often-requested selection for church services and Easter celebrations and a valuable addition to the sacred repertoire of string players.Â
Both the VIOLIN and the CELLO lead with the melody at times making this a fun and equally challenging piece for both instruments while adding variety for the listeners. The range for each string instrument is as follows: VIOLIN ~ F#4 to B5; CELLO ~ C3 Â to D4. For the violin, all notes are playable in the first position and all notes for the cello are playable in the first and second positions. This arrangement is an excellent choice for intermediate string players. The PIANO accompaniment is written for an intermediate player. Duration 5:00.
