Commissioned by the Dean and Chapter of Guildford to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral, The Holy Spirit sets a text by the poet and novelist Evelyn Underhill with masterful word-painting. Although there is some organ accompaniment, most of the work is a cappella with varying moods and textures to reflect the highly descriptive text.
