Commissioned by Roger Muttitt for the 600th anniversary of Durham School in 2014, In this place is a setting of my own words and was first performed at a service of celebration in Durham Cathedral in June 2014. The text is a poem of renewal and the setting builds towards the final phrase 'I will fly with angels'. Keep the chords as balanced as possible between the parts and aim for a really warm blend at all times. If possible, allow the tempo to ebb and flow with the sense of the words.
