The Vocal Score for True Fire by Kaija Saariaho, composed in 2014 and arranged for Baritone Voice and Orchestra.True Fire was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, NDR Sinfonieorchester, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre national de France. The composition is a setting of five texts, three of which are from renowned transcendentalist poet Ralph Waldo Emerson's Spiritual Laws. The other texts are Irish poet Seamus Heaney's 'The Spirit Level', Songs of the Tewa and a piece of writing by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. This beautiful work was first performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on the 14th of May 2015. / Baryton Et Piano
