The techniques required are rudimentary, and the instruments are usually available to the beginning band director. The pieces are written from the unique percussionist's prospective, where students are expected to: * Count multiple bars rest * Play numerous repeated measures * Play a muber of different instruments on the same part * Count measures while switching mallets and instruments.
