Double Take is a work by South-African composer Kevin Volans arranged for Clarinet in A with Accompaniment. Double Take was commissioned by the Music Network with theassistance of the Arts Council of Ireland. Volans a key member of the post-minimalist community states that he finds composing for solo instruments the most difficult of tasks. Originally composed as a duet for a singleplayer Volans started to hear a subtle ostinato underneath the main melody which became the opening of the piece.
