A setting of the Requiem Mass by South African composer Hendrik Hofmeyr written for a chorus of mixed voices utilising divisions and solo moments throughout. The setting is constructed around two contrasting motifs signifying death and salvation with a cantus firmus based upon the famous Dies Irae plainchant. The result is a dramatic stirring and hugely uplifting Requiem.
