The well known song Send In The Clowns from the 1973 musical A Little Night Music is now arranged for SSA Voices with Piano accompaniment.The musical composed by Stephen Sondheim is an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's film Smiles of a Summer Night and tells the romantic stories of many couples with a main focus on the actress Desirée and the lawyer Fredrik. In the ballad Send In The Clowns Desirée reflects on the ironies and disappointments of her life after Fredrik s initial rejection. The song is later reprised as a coda after Fredrik's young wife runs away and he is finally free to accept Desirée'soffer.Send In The Clowns became Sondheim's most popular song after Frank Sinatra recorded it in 1973 and Judy Collins' version charted in 1975 and 1977.
