Claude Debussy: Clarinet Album: Clarinet: Instrumental Album

The range of tonal colour that can be produced by the clarinet made it eminently suitable for Debussy's impressionistic compositions and it featured greatly in his orchestral works. Only a few works however for the solo instrument were composed. James Rae presents some of Debussy's most popular concert pieces in these arrangements for clarinet and piano. Clarinettists will now have the pleasure of bringing to life for example: the Ragtime flair of 'Le petit nègre' the beauty of 'La plus que lente' and the clumsiness of the little elephant in 'Jimbo's Lullaby'.
