This first volume of La Guitare Classique by Jean-Maurice Mourat includes detailed transcriptions of a great number of songs with simplified harmonies and different tones. Some crucial changes have been made since the first edition most importantly there is less emphasis placed on classical music favouring instead traditional tunes and popular songs. Melodic lines from the very beginning are simplified and the difficulty slowly progresses throughout the book creating a nice smooth learning curve that is a lot less steep than other songbooks of this kind.
