from the second half of the 18th Century-This is a tremendous collection of simple and short pieces for the Piano from the second half of the eighteenth century. It was a period in which a vast amount of material for amateurs was composed much of which remains today. This compilation brings together a small section of that literature that has unjustly all but faded into obscurity with by composers such as Johann Baptist Vanhal Johan Gottfried and Siegfried Smiedt. Accurately edited by Alfred Kreutz this book is also ideal for teaching as these pieces have little ornamentation and the minimum of expression marks whilst featuring fabulous and enjoyable melody.
