Composer's note:I composed Falling specifically for Phillip Sheppard and his amazing blue cello at a time when I was experiencing a strange sensation of wakelessness and plummeting of things being well beyond mycontrol. I was beginning to understand the expression 'falling in love'. Joby Talbot
