inspiring confidence to play by touch-Richard Smith's Don't LOOK At The Keys! teaches students how to play by touch feeling their way around the keyboard using various 'signposts' whilst keeping their eyes on the music. Designed to make sight reading easier and more effective the books in this innovative series contain a progressive set of imaginative pieces to take students and teachers step by step through the technique. This is not just another sight reading book. Don't LOOK At The Keys! contains actual practice pieces as well as instructions that demonstrate how toplay Piano by touch. It instructs and develops the skill and confidence to look at the music instead of the hands and helps those students who commit pieces to memory or play by ear then wonder where to look while playing. This is the first of three books in the series. Book One is in two parts; hands separate and hands together all pieces have both hands in a five finger position each of which is illustrated at the top together with the key (all keys are on the Grades 1 & 2 sight reading syllabus). The pieces in Book Two are within an octave in both hands and Book Three beyond this range.
