for piano. Par DOBBINS BILL. 'These piano preludes have developed from my longtime love of the music from both the classical and jazz traditions. I have intentionally adopted a format which may or may not include improvisation. This format should serve as a friendly invitation to classically trained pianists. My own improvisations, which can be heard on the recording 'Preludes and Predilections, Vol. 1', may open up some avenues or points of departure. This same format should, on the other hand, serve to challenge the improvising pianist to make the written material sound fresh and spontaneous in each performance.'
