Par PUGH DAVE. These studies were composed to assist teachers provide repertoire to their students that match exam board syllabus scale requirements. Many teachers found that the repertoire on exam board syllabus’ were not linked to the scales tested for that exam. These studies plug this gap for teachers, so scales and key signatures can be learnt and mastered through musical exercises, rather than as isolated memory recall. These studies get progressively more difficult and allow the developing musician become more technically proficient in a range of keys and musical styles.
