David Ashley White uses pronounced rhythmic syncopation and changing meters within middle and upper ranges to highlight the air of expectancy in Christ Song. There are few technical difficulties as parts often double each other. The joyous nature of the text and the length of this setting make it especially appropriate as an introit.
