The bagatelles reflect Beethovenā??s diverse compositional cosmos in miniature. Technically, they range from moderate dexterity to demanding virtuosity.
In addition to the well-known collections opp. 33, 119 and 126, ten pieces were found after Beethovenā??s death in an envelope labelled ā??Bagatellesā?. These included the revised version of ā??FĆ¼r Eliseā? as well as two further bagatelles in previously unpublished versions.
