Though Joseph is described but not quoted in the Scriptures, this text is in the voice of Joseph reflecting on Mary his wife and his infant son. The accompaniment for this mostly unison carol moves in a gentle, though somewhat lilting, 3/4, making it ideal for children's choirs. Handbells and a flute nicely enhance this setting.
