Who ever said unison music is inherently dull? This setting is rhythmically challenging, e.g., the first seven measures are 2/4, 2/4, 5/8, 7/8, 4/4, 2/4, 4/4, and it later divides many 4/4 measures into 3-3-2 eighths. The unison melody is also a bit challenging, supported and enhanced by an accompaniment that has many of its own things to say.
