Early on in his remarkable career as a concert pianist Glenn Gould composed a few works of his own: a String Quartet (ED 8764), Piano Pieces (ED 8319) and the Sonata in two movements presented here. While rather roughly finished in places, this foray into composition clearly reflects the stylistic preferences of a highly individual performer.
