Here Haugen writes in a rather formal hymnic style for assembly, choir, organ and brass. His powerful text is a paean of praise in which each stanza concludes with the twice repeated acclamation: Soli Deo gloria! Commissioned for a festive occasion, and worthy of most any ecclesial celebration.
Brass quartet and timpani parts are optional. Horn in f can be substituted for trombone I.
