The title combines the words ?recitare? and ?cantare?, and thus this eloquent song embodies a renewed attempt to demonstrate the communicative power of music. The piece was written for Tabea Zimmermann and dedicated to her, while at the same time, in the tradition of a ?Lamento di Viola?, commemorating the harpsichordist Christiane Jaccottet.
