The colorful and exotic nature of a tropical rain forest is depicted in this solo written in the bright key of D major and 4/4 meter. The tempo is marked "freely" and changes throughout the piece, providing a wonderful opportunity for students to work on the challenges of rubato playing. The sixteenth-note passages will require a clean and clear technique that is easily accessible for this level. The brilliant sound of the piece, enhanced by the use of the damper pedal, is sure to be a student and crowd favorite.
