Jean-Baptiste Arban (1825-1889) wrote and arranged over 300 pieces of music, with his cornet a pistons solos being the most important to trumpet and cornet players. After his death, much of his work fell into obscurity during the twentieth century. Rediscovering Arban's masterful music was the motivation for compiling this collection of cornet pieces. Included pieces are: "Variations Brilliantes," "Fantaisie brillante sur l'air populaire de Marlborough," "Fantaisie brillante sur des motifs de La Cenerentola de Gioachino Rossini," "Le Pre aux Clercs," "Romance de Mignon de Ambroise Thomas," among other brilliant works. This collection of solos represents a very important piece of Arban's legacy. Includes a piano accompaniment audio CD for effective practice.
