The composer, piano virtuoso and teacher Carl Czerny (1791 - 1857) studied with Beethoven between the years 1800 and 1803. Of his work, his didactic pieces for piano deserve special attention. Exercises for Fingerability op.849, revised by Frantisek Rauch, can be ranked as studies of medium difficulty.
