One of the most influential of German romantic composers is Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826). He is especially known because of his opera's but he composed some masses and a number of solo concerto's as well. Not many composers have made concerto's for bassoon. In fact, in the classical repertoire there are only 4 concerto's well-known. (Vivaldi, Mozart, Saint-Saens and von Weber). For Clarinet, Carl Maria von Weber wrote two concerto's and a concertino. For bassoon he composed the Andante e Rondo Ungarese and in 1811 the Concerto in F major.
