Advent Joy, scored for unison voices, descant, and keyboard, anticipates the birth of Christ with bright, dance-like rhythms. The verses describe John the Baptist and Mary each preparing for the Savior's arrival, and we are reminded to "light a candle" in expectation. In the contrasting refrain, we are all asked to prepare for this celebration, for "The light of the world in coming". Ideal for Youth Choir, yet suitable for all ages, and easy to learn. Suggested use: Advent 3 ("Gaudete" Sunday) or any Sunday in Advent.
