In the late 1950s Mr. Martino was still active as a concert and jazz clarinetist. At that time ,while living in New york he composed a dozen works for a jazz ensemble he was forming. These works, once graced by the all-knowing and unerring fingers of the great Bill Evans and such venerable other quintet members as Elvin Jones, have been shelved these many years. One by one they are being released in published versions. THREEWAY is a three minute Jazz Invention in swing tempo for Cl, Vbr and bass (1957, 3 minutes).
