Finally, Slide Hampton's incredible music is in print. This wonderful chart was written for the Maynard Ferguson Dream Band. Starting with a dramatic, rich intro, this chart moves through a series of tempo and meter changes with excitement building at every turn. The bulk of the piece is a fast jazz waltz which then moves into a medium-up swing feel. The ending is a reprise of the beginning. There is solo space for alto and tenor saxophone and trumpet.
