Composed in the Australian winter of 2005 in response to the death of a close friend's mother. Her passion for Renaissance music influenced many aspects of the piece, particularly text, and the decision to set it for two a cappella choirs. Victoria, Monteverdi, DuruflE, and Biebl inspire the music's style. Winner of the 2006 National Lutheran Choir composition contest and part of the National Lutheran Choir Series.
