Elvira's cabaletta, "Vien diletto", from Act 2, Scene 3 and Arturo's aria, "Credeasi, misera!" from Act 3, Scene 3 from Vincenzo Bellini's I Puritani are used to create this multi-thematic fantasy for clarinet and piano. Liverani incorporates his own original composition and supplies several cadenzas for the clarinet soloist throughout the piece. The work is dedicated to Liverani's student Tommaso Caselli.
