In this dramatic and fun string work for 1st year players, the arranger has set up a musical showdown between a pesky fly and a very persistent spider, using the folk tunes "Shoo Fly" and "The Eency Weency Spider". The last 1/3 of the piece gets really fun when motifs from both tunes get fragmented, alternated, and spun around. Does the fly get away, or does the spider get a meal? Only the basses know for sure!
