This is a crowd-pleasing arrangement of the well-known gypsy violin piece by Vittorio Monti, it's based on the traditional Hungarian folk dance, Csardas. Featuring a xylophone soloist (which can also be performed on marimba), it opens with a rhapsodic statement in D-minor which leads into a fiery Vivace showcasing the soloist's two-mallet technique.
