This is a tender, yet powerful, poem that reminds us of the personal responsibility each of us bears in creating a world fit to welcome the return of God's Son. In each of the five stanzas, the anonymous poet underscores the message of the text by opening with the same words: "If in your heart you..." It is the final word of each of these lines that sets up the momentum of the poetry and the ultimate impact of its message: If in your heart you find...build...make...hold... and, finally, sing. Each of these acts builds on the previous thought and leads the reader through a series of petitions that, if followed, will result in a chorus of "Alleluias" not heard on earth since that night in Bethlehem centuries ago. Part of the Christmas with the Singers choral series.
