This piece begins with a plaintive melody presented by either English Horn or Viola. The melody of the opening line reflects the music first heard by the shepherds in the hills surrounding Bethlehem. The melody is then developed throughout the piece and tell the Christmas story in a unique way. Part of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians Series. Includes reproducible part for English Horn.
