Olsen's Concerto in F, Op. 48 for Trombone and Orchestra was originally written for the French Horn in 1886, but later revised by the composer for Trombone in 1905.
Mr. Eriksen has finely edited the solo part and the composer's Piano reduction, which contained numerous errors and misprints.
Olsen's work is grand and majestic and suits the Trombone perfectly. The 15-minute Concerto is in the standard 3-movement format of fast-slow-fast and is suitable for advanced performers.
