This arrangement is an almost literal, note-for note adaptation of Aaron Copland's variations on the Shaker tune ?Simple Gifts? as it appears in his orchestral suite ?Appalachian Spring? (rehearsal numbers 55-67). The Variations have been arranged for SATB chorus and piano in a wonderfully singable and exciting setting. A perfect way to introduce your choir to Copland while your audiences enjoy this wonderful music.
