Similar in concept to Joel Raney's wildly successful piano and organ duets with optional choral introits, this is the first in a series of worship openers for solo piano plus choir. Perfect for churches with an accomplished pianist, the prelude incorporates "Lift High the Cross" and builds until the choir enters at the very end with an exuberant delivery of the chorus of "Christ the Lord is Risen Today." Four and a half minutes in length, the piano solo is of moderate difficulty, and the accessible and reproducible choral part is included in the score. This is a dynamic and exciting way to open an Easter service with minimal preparation for the choir.
