A ponderous and dramatic march from the "King" of all march composers! Composed for King's friend Merle Evans, bandmaster for the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus, "Invictus" (which means "unconquerable") lives up to its title! After a ponderous minor-key first section featuring low brass and woodwinds, the second features an exciting "circusy" sound. The trio is followed by a return to the minor key, and ends with a rock-solid final section.
