Serenade italienne is an invitation for a rendezvous on the sea beneath the stars. The scene is colored by a spiraling piano accompaniment and largely homophonic vocal lines. Valverde makes the most of Chausson's music in this lovely setting. A great choice for high school and collegiate TTBB choirs.
