The German born Ferling is probably best remembered for his 48 Etudes for Oboe. Pieces which are still regularly studied and performed today by both oboists and saxophonists. These lovely duo's, of which this is the first, predate the etudes and are equally suitable for study and performance. In this transcription the original key has been changed to make it more suitable for bassoon.
