This work was written for Jane Manning and Roger Montgomery, who gave the first performance at the Glasgow Musica Nova Festival on 16th September 1990. It is a free transcription of the aria Wer Bist du? Frage dein Gewissen from J.S.Bach's Cantata No 132 Bereitet die Wege, bereitet die Bahn.
