A broad and powerful fanfare-like opening quickly works into a simple lonely trumpet melody. As the phrase builds, woodwinds and brass are added providing interesting countermelodies and beautiful harmonic progressions. The conclusion restates the original melody but in rhythmic half time with percussion providing the energy for a dramatic finish. Promise of a New Sunrise is a perfect festival selection.
